"I am only one, but I am one.  I cannot do everything, but I can do something.  And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do."  ~Edward Everett Hale

The success of the Greater New Haven Warriors depends greatly upon it's volunteers.  Our entire Board is made up of volunteer members.  While the Board Members work together to guide and ensure a positive season, they cannot do it all themselves.  This is not their league it is OUR league and together we can continue to make it strong and a positive experience for all of our families.

There are many ways to get involved with the league and each requires various levels of commitment and/or experience.  There is certainly something that can fit your desire.

Here are just some suggestions:

Volunteer within your team:  The first volunteer to be named within your team is the Parent Manager (PM).  This is an important position and is the right hand to the coach.  The team PM works with the coach to keep the team informed and works to ensure that players have fun both on and off the ice.  If this is not your choice, you can still help with other things, talk to your coach and PM to see what might be needed.

For those wishing to help on-ice -- head coach, assistant coach, or on-ice help.  You must fill out a coaching form and you must have the proper level of USA Hockey certification.  The coaching form must be returned to the Director of Coaches and needs to be approved by the Board of Directors.

Volunteer on a committee:  We have many committees that keep the league running.  Some require a season long commitment, while others are shorter.  Ask a current Board member to learn more upcoming events and how you can help!

Volunteer as a Board Member:  There are numerous positions that make up our Board.  These positions have a season long term.  New Board Members are elected every April.  If this is something that interests you, it is best to attend as many Board meetings as possible this season.  This is a great way to hear what is going on, the decisions that are made and why, and it will give you a good idea of what it takes to actually be a Board Member.  You must have attended a minimum of three Board meetings within the current season to be eligible to run for a Board position in April.  With players growing and graduating out of the league there is always turn over on the Board and the need for new members.  Click HERE to see a listing of the current Board Members and their positions.

We welcome all volunteers!  Many hands make light work, and together we can continue to do all that has become expected of the Greater New Haven Warriors and more.
