Coaches, please see the below USA Hockey coaches and helmets rule:

ALL ice hockey coaches and instructors of USA Hockey programs for youth 18 and under, high school and girls/women 19 and under MUST wear a HECC approved helmet during all on-ice sessions.  This includes practices, camps, workshops, controlled scrimmages as well as coaching clinics and seminars.

We are a USA Hockey program and are under the local direction of CHC, whose president, Mike Meakem, and coaching coordinator, Mike Powers, request that this information be reiterated to all coaches in each member program.  CHC conducts spot checks and acts upon complaints of non-compliance, with progressive penalties to both individual offenders and their respective programs.

We thank all of our coaches for continuing to obey this rule.

Please see the following requirements to insure you have the proper USA Hockey Coaching requirements for the level that you are interested in coaching.  CHC does hold certification classes typically in the fall.  Watch for the release of their schedule.  It is your responsibility to keep your coaching certification active and at the proper level in order to continue coaching with the Greater New Haven Warriors.

• Mite must have Level 1 certification
• Squirt must have Level 2 certification
• Pee Wee must have Level 3 certification
• Bantam must have Level 3 certification
• Midget Non-Tournament Bound must have Level 3 certification
• Midget Tournament Bound must have Level 4 certification

You MUST obtain the proper certification level by December 31, 2009. If not obtained by then, you MUST be removed from the roster per CHC rules. Cards expiring as of December 31, 2009 are those with a 06/07 sticker.

Coaches have until December 31, 2009 to go to the next level or renew their Level 3.

GNH Coaching Application Form * - The coaching packet must be completed and returned to the Director of Coaches to express your interest in coaching the upcoming season. ALL coaches, both head and assistants, in Connecticut will be screened through a national Criminal Records clearing house to comply with the USA Hockey Screening policy.
