GREATER NEW HAVEN WARRIORS MITE DEVELOPMENT HOCKEY PROGRAM

Registration is now open!

 

This program is designed for boys and girls making the transition from learn-to-skate and learn-to-play hockey programs to a more team oriented, skill development hockey league.

 

Format:

The Warriors half-ice USA Hockey ADM format focuses on player’s ice awareness, skill development, and most importantly fun as they begin their journey in hockey. The focus in practice is on the fundamentals:  skating, stick handling, shooting, and hockey IQ in a safe and fun environment. There are no tryouts for Mite Development. All players sign up and are evaluated at the beginning of the season before they are split into four teams.

 

Schedule:

All sessions take place at the Northford Ice Pavilion

Practice Tuesdays at 5:00 pm and Saturdays at 7:30 am. 

Games on Sundays at 8:40 am.

 

Tuition: 

$1350 Includes on-ice three times per week (excluding Holidays)

2019 First Strides

2019 Fall First Strides Registration

Registration is open for First Strides, Connecticut’s Premier FREE Learn-to-Skate program developed by the Greater New Haven Warriors. The program provides aspiring players between the ages of 4-10 the opportunity to take their "first strides" in developing an interest in ice hockey. Emphasis is placed on the very basics of skating within a safe and fun environment. It is designed for first-time skaters only please. Players who have previously participated in First Strides or another Learn-to-Skate program should register for the Warriors Learn-to-Play Hockey clinics.
Note: There is no cost to participate or use the loaner equipment (see equipment section below). All players must register with USA Hockey.    
Equipment: . Please indicate if you will be borrowing equipment or using your own when you register. Players will receive  hockey gloves and hockey skates. We also recommend that players wear shin guards and elbow pads. Discounted equipment packages are available Hamden Sports if you wish to purchase your own equipment.

The Connecticut Crease in conjunction with the Greater New Haven Warriors is offering a Summer Goalie Clinic to any player interested in learning how to play the goalie position.

 

Who:

This introductory program is open to mites and squirts.  

 

When:

The clinic will be held for 4 Saturdays in August. 

August 3, 10, 17, and 24 at 9:00 am.

Summer Learn to Play Begins Saturday!

SUMMER LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAM

 

The Warriors Learn-to-Play Hockey clinic is a preparatory program designed to teach new and returning players 4-10 years old proper skating and introductory hockey skills. This program is for players who have completed a Learn to skate or learn to play hockey program in the past. All sessions take place at the Northford Ice Pavilion.

 

COST

$175

 

SCHEDULE

8 weeks July 6 to August 24

9:00 am at Northford Ice Pavilion

 

EQUIPMENT

Full equipment is required. Discounted equipment packages are available from Hamden Sports on Whitney Ave. in Hamden.
